Bennett Resnik '15, a juris doctor candidate at VLS, will present "A New Russian Revolution: Liberalization of LNG Export Market in the Face of Shifting Global Supply" during the conference's globalizing gas market session.
The liquefied natural gas (LNG) export market has been making international headlines. According to Reuters, Russia aims "to double its share in the global LNG market by 2020." And competition is stiff as Russian producers make deals to meet China's demand for natural gas.
"Energy law is a multifaceted practice involving domestic and international policy matters, economics, environmental issues, and various market impacts," said Resnik, who interned this summer at the U.S. Department of Energy Office of the General Counsel. "In presenting at Oxford on several of these issues, I am growing my foundational knowledge of energy law and international policy and informing others on my research and analysis."
