Thursday, September 15, 2016

SOUTH ROYALTON, Vt.

The Environmental Law Center at Vermont Law School will welcome environmental scholars from around the country to the seventh annual Colloquium on Environmental Scholarship, Sept. 23-24, at VLS.

The colloquium provides participants with the opportunity to present their works-in-progress, gather feedback from colleagues, and meet other scholars who teach and research in areas related to environmental and natural resources law. Final papers are eligible for publication in the Vermont Journal of Environmental Law.

"We are pleased to welcome our esteemed environmental colleagues and friends to the Colloquium on Environmental Scholarship at Vermont Law School," said Professor Patrick Parenteau, director of the colloquium and senior counsel at the Environmental and Natural Resources Law Clinic. "Their work is critical to understanding the environmental challenges we face today—from climate change to access to clean water—and to developing, and measuring the effectiveness of, potential legal solutions for the future."

More than 60 scholars from across the country will participate in the colloquium, which is not open to the public. VLS will serve farm-to-table meals throughout the weekend, and participants will have the opportunity to hike Vermont trails with VLS faculty.
