Faculty Speaker Series: Restoring Lake Champlain: Hope, Harmony and Hard Work

David Mears will share the history and status of efforts to address pollution into Lake Champlain.  He will describe the evolution of federal and state clean water laws as applied to the lake, along with developments in our understanding of relevant science and pollution control strategies.  Mears will share his experience working on this issue as DEC Commissioner with the many different players affected by and invested in a clean Lake Champlain.  These topics are being addressed in an interdisciplinary VJEL edition to be published in the Spring that will serve as a template for this discussion.
