Everyone has lots of fun things to do during the summer, so fewer people give blood. As a result, blood banks are at their lowest levels over the summer, and emergency patients may not be able to get the blood they need. One pint of blood can save three lives, since the blood can be separated into red cells, plasma, and platelets.

Therefore, VLS is hosting its summer blood drive on June 16. Our goal is 24 donations, but we are less than 30% of the way there! Go online to www.redcrossblood.org to sign up for a slot, or show up in Chase between 10:30 and 3:30 on Tuesday, June 16. It pays to sign up - the wait time will be shorter!
