Blood Drive

24 Oct 2016

Blood Drive

6:30am - 11:30am

Chase Community Center

Chase Center

There will be a blood drive from 10:30-3:30 in the Chase Center this Monday, October 24.

VLS has shown its commitment to the health and safety of the community through blood drives again and again, but the need never goes away. As someone who owes my life to blood donations, I know the value of these drives firsthand. Your donation could save three lives! Let's turn out in force and help out our community. We especially need double red cell donors!

Specifics:

When is the best time to give?

There are lots of spots empty in the afternoon, so if your schedule is flexible, please consider giving between 2:30-3:15.

How do I sign up?

Go to redcrossblood.org and look up the VT Law drive by zip code (05068). Or see our table in Chase Breezeway today and tomorrow.

What are double red cells?

A Double Red Cell donation collects the red cells but returns most of the plasma and platelets to the donor. These donors must meet specific eligibility requirements, but your donation is especially needed!

Advice before donating?

Drink lots of water and make sure your diet has plenty of protein/iron.

What if I can't donate blood?

Consider volunteering! Contact me by emailing Elijah LaChance and tell me when you'll be available on Monday, Oct. 24. We need volunteers all day - from setup at 9:45 to teardown at 4:00.

Consider donating snacks! All baked goods should be at the Chase Center by 9:30 the day of the drive.

Thanks so much for your time and effort!
