About This Class

This cutting edge course explores environmental protection during armed conflict and analyzes the role of environmental management in state reconstruction. It considers current challenges in the Middle East, Africa and Asia, discusses how environmental obligations may be incorporated into the laws of new states, and provides an overview of international environmental law and international dispute settlement in the context of peace and war. Students will also learn about opportunities for international legal practise, particularly in the areas of environmental protection and the development of the rule of law.
