Catherine MacKenzie

Biography

Professor MacKenzie is a member of the Faculty of Law of Cambridge University, and Dean of Degrees of Green Templeton College, Oxford University. Her areas of expertise are International Environmental Law, and International Law. Her jointly edited book, Law, Tropical Forests and Carbon, is published by Cambridge University Press and her monograph, International Law and the Protection of Forests, will be published by Oxford University Press. A member of the Bar of England and Wales and the High Court of Australia, she has been employed by Allen & Overy, the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank and the United Nations, and served as a Legal Officer in the Australian Army Reserve. Professor MacKenzie is a Governing Master of the Bench of the Inner Temple (Inn of Court), London.

She is also a Board member of the Inns of Court College of Advocacy UK, the Royal Agricultural University UK, and the Architects Registration Board, UK. She earned degrees from Oxford University, London University, the Inns of Court School of Law, Sydney University and the Australian National University, and she is a Visiting Professor at a number of United States and international law schools.
