About This Class
Evening section (which I now understand will be Monday evening): Problem based study of lawyer's professional obligations and issues of professional formation. Includes ABA Model Rules, ethical rules from selected jurisdictions - especially the jurisdictions where students may practice - and other laws and traditions governing lawyer's conduct. We focus in class on developing the knowledge and skills necessary to identify ethical dilemmas and the tools to help resolve them. Evaluation is based on student participation (individual, small group and on-line), CALI lessons, one written mid-term, and one final assessment due at the end of exam period. While the focus of this class is on NOT on the MPRE, students should be able to take the MPRE during the semester (November 7).
The evening class is designed especially for students in externships, clinics, work (for extended program students) and other activities that make the challenge of a three hour class meeting once a week in the evening a reasonable option.
