We have managed to create a dizzying patchwork of surface and groundwater management laws that span local, state and federal jurisdictions. This class will first examine the Clean Water Act, interstate compacts, common law and state and local watershed management strategies then embark on a review of the creative solutions, by focusing on a series of actual watershed case studies throughout the US and abroad. . Students will prepare and present their own watershed management plan as the major project for this class.
