The Legal Essentials for Energy Professionals seminar program was created by the Institute for Energy and the Environment (IEE) at Vermont Law School in partnership with the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI). The course has provided energy professionals with a broad overview of the legal foundation of the utility regulatory framework, the role of federal and state energy regulatory commissions, and how to operate effectively within these structures.
The inaugural two-week professional development course was offered in Vermont in June 2012. The course was modified to a one-week program held in Washington, DC in 2013, 2014, and 2016 based on feedback from participants.
At this time, the IEE is not offering the course while it works on expanding the growing Master of Energy Regulation and Law (MERL) degree program and Energy Clinic. If you are interested in participating in the course in the future, please contact the IEE with your comments and expression of interest.
