VLGS Seeks First Animal Law and Policy Distinguished Scholar

Please consider applying for Vermont Law and Graduate School's Distinguished Scholars and Fellows program. While VLGS has welcomed environmental law scholars and animal law media fellows in the past, this summer, VLGS will host our first Distinguished Animal Law and Policy Scholar.

The program is open to current law school faculty members. The invited scholar will join us for two weeks in beautiful Vermont during our Summer Session in June or July 2023. Thanks to funding provided by the Brooks Institute for Animal Rights Law and Policy, VLGS will cover the scholar's travel expenses, provide housing and office space, and award a $5,000 honorarium. Scholars give a public lecture at VLGS and are invited to participate in informal gatherings with faculty and students.

To apply, please send a cover letter including the topic of your scholarship and CV to Laura Ireland, Associate Director of the Animal Law and Policy Institute, at lireland@vermontlaw.edu by November 21, 2022. You may also reach out with any questions or for further information.
