Outlook Web App - OWA

If you are off campus, VLS IT recommends using the Webmail version of Outlook, also known as OWA:

Log in with your VLS User name and Password.

If you are having issues with OWA functionality, especially in IE9, try running your browser in compatibility mode. (Click the little gray "broken page" icon in the address bar.)

Note: Chrome is not fully functional for use with OWA. VLS IT recommends using Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, or Safari.


VLS Email on Mobile Devices


  • Tap the Settings icon
  • Tap Add account
  • Tap Exchange (or Corporate)
  • Enter the following information:
    Email address
  • Tap Manual setup
  • Tap Exchange
  • A message may pop up indicating that settings should be confirmed
  • Tap Edit details
  • Change only the following fields:
    Username: Enter your username with the VLS prefix like this → vls\yourusername
  • Tap Next
  • A message may pop up regarding security, tap OK
  • On the next screen tap Next
  • The last setting is an account name. We recommend VLS Email
  • Open your Email client
  • Another message may pop up regarding security, tap OK
  • Then tap Activate



  • Tap the Settings icon
  • Tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars
  • Tap Add Account
  • Tap Exchange
  • Enter the following:
    Your Email Address
    Your Password
    A description of this mail account (Vermont Law)
  • Tap Next
  • On the next screen enter this additional information:
    Domain: VLS
    Username: yourvlsusername
    Password: yourvlspassword
  • Tap Next
    You can decide here what information you wish to sync.
    • Tap Save - all done. Email will begin to sync on your iphone.


    Windows Phone

    • Tap the Settings icon
    • Tap email+accounts
    • Tap add an account
    • Tap Exchange
    • Enter the following information:
      Email address
      Password: your vls password
    • Tap sign in
    • Enter this additional information:
      Domain: vls
    • Tap sign in
    • Tap done



    Online Archive

    When any email is 3 months or older, it is automatically archived.

    To access your Online Archive, log into OWA.

    You will find your Online Archive on the left hand side listed under your folders.

    There will be a small triangle to the left of Online Archive.

    Please note that the Online Archive will not show up if you select the light version of Outlook Web App.
