Vermont Law School announces the 2020 Summer Session will be delivered to students through online learning. There are more than 45 classes offered from the end of May through August in environmental law and policy, restorative justice, and general JD curriculum.
“Vermont Law School has a ten year history of delivering high-quality law and policy classes online,” explains Thomas McHenry, President and Dean at Vermont Law School. “I am proud of the work that our faculty and staff have done to pivot to “Virtual VLS” for our spring semester and now as we extend that for the Summer Session. Our course content will continue to be rich, our students will feel engaged, and we will continue to have our strong sense of community that VLS is known for through our virtual platform. Additionally, the online Summer Session is open to students from other institutions who can take advantage of earning additional graduate or law credits and is a good way for attorneys to add to their expertise and catch up on recent legal developments from their own homes.”
The Vermont Law School Summer Session offers a variety of flexible schedules to accommodate students, with multiple terms over the summer months. Students can select a full session spanning from the end of May through August, one term that is two weeks in length, or classes that meet just on Fridays.
Classes will be held in a virtual live “synchronous” format. This method of instruction is best for students who seek the traditional classroom experience by joining a class on a specific day and time. Classes are also available in an “asynchronous” format, where students can attend the class on their own schedule each week.
“This pandemic has impacted us all differently, and we want to ensure that we are meeting the needs of students no matter what their situation is or where they are located,” explains John Miller, Vice President for Enrollment Management, Marketing, and Communications at Vermont Law School. “Having options to choose from, whether it’s “live virtual” or “online at their own pace,” shows how quickly VLS can respond with innovative and flexible solutions to ensure students continue their education with minimal disruption to achieve their academic goals.
