Current Issues in Animal Law Lecture Series: A Human Right to Nature

1:00pm - 2:00pm

Virtual

The Environmental Law Center at VLS Presents "Current Issues in Animal Law Lecture Series: A Human Right to Nature" on Friday, November 13 from 1 to 2 p.m. EST.

Litigation pending before the Ninth Circuit treats a right to nature, and wilderness in particular, as part of the scope of liberty protected under the Constitution. That case alleges that the climate crisis - and the federal government's response or indifference to it - presents a threat to liberty. How is there such a right? Three attorneys working on the matter explain.

Speakers

Carter Dillard, Senior Policy Advisor, The Animal Legal Defense Fund

Jessica L. Blome, Senior Associate, Greenfire Law

Ariel Strauss, Of-Counsel, Greenfire Law
