Constitution Day is a federal observance that recognizes the adoption of the United States Constitution. This year's celebration will be on Thursday, September 17 (the very day in 1787 that delegates to the Constitutional Convention signed the document in Philadelphia) from 12:45 - 2:00 pm in the Chase Center. In recognition of the day, professors Jared Carter, Greg Johnson, and Jessica West will participate on a panel discussing cases pending before the United States Supreme Court and the Vermont Supreme Court.

Each panel member will provide a summary of the pending case and the constitutional issues involved, and there will be time for questions and discussion. The cases will be revealed soon and will cover such topics as the First Amendment, Church Street in Burlington, Article III, Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 23, freedom to travel, and much more.

Light refreshments will be served.
