Please join the Vermont Law School Diversity Committee, in partnership with the Deans' Office, for a community meeting on Monday, November 14 at 5:30 PM in the Chase Community Center.

The purpose of the meeting is to encourage discussion and educate both the VLS community and the local community about the issues surrounding community policing as well as Black Lives Matter.

We have invited Mark Hughes, a member of the Black Lives Matter Vermont Chapter; Ingrid Jonas, the Director of the Fair and Impartial Policing and Community Affairs Office of the Vermont State Police; and James Beraldi, the South Royalton Police Chief. We have also invited the chair and members of the South Royalton Select Board. There will be a question and answer period that will be facilitated by Ellen Bettman, an Anti-Bias Educator.

The South Royalton and Vermont Law School communities are invited to attend. Everyone will have an opportunity to ask questions and voice their opinion at the meeting. There will be a box located in the Chase Center for written comments and questions. To ensure everyone participates, we request that no media attend and that no person record any part of the meeting, either by audio or visual means.
