Animal Law Society Spring Symposium

The Animal Law Society at VLS presents its annual spring symposium, "Below the Surface: Diving Deep to Protect our Ocean Animals", the current status of marine wildlife conservation in the U.S. and beyond. The event will be held on Tuesday, March 27 from 5:30 to 8:30 PM in Chase Community Center.
Presentation topics include:
- The history of capture and conservation of the Southern Resident Killer Whale population
- The intersection between wildlife conservation and international ocean governance
- Global shark conservation policy
Panelists include:
- Don Bauer, Partner: Perkins Cole in Washington, D.C. and Adjunct Professor at Vermont Law School.
- Heather Rally, DVM: Supervising veterinarian for the Captive Animal Law Enforcement division, PETA foundation.
- Aaron Strong, PHD: Professor of Marine Policy at University of Maine.
- Steve Kessel, PHD: Director of Marine Research at the Shedd Aquarium.
Vegan food will be provided. Free and open to the public and press.
