Biography

Jaclyn (Jackie) A. Brilling was appointed to the Vermont Law and Graduate School Board of Trustees in 2024. She is a former president of the VLGS Alumni Association’s (VLGSAA) Board of Directors and has also represented the Albany Regional Group of the VLGSAA Board. Jackie has served in this regional capacity since 2013 and as the VLGSAA Development Committee Chair since 2014.

Jackie retired in 2012 as secretary of the New York State Public Service Commission after completing a 34-year career as a utility regulator, and she is now an impartial hearing officer for the New York State Department of Education for special education hearings. She also serves on the Presumptive Mediator Panel and as an arbitrator for the 3rd and 4th New York State Supreme Court Judicial Districts, and is a consulting attorney on energy and environmental matters. Jackie involves herself in volunteer community mediation and restorative justice issues.
