Biography

Brenda Brickhouse works on sustainable energy strategy as a senior technical executive with EPRI, a research organization helping to power society toward a reliable, affordable, and resilient energy future. Prior to joining EPRI, she held various operational and environmental and energy policy roles with Duke Energy and the Tennessee Valley Authority, where she was chief sustainability officer.

Her academic board service is extensive having served on and held leadership roles with the College of Natural Resources Foundation Board and the NC State University Board of Visitors. Brenda currently serves on Wolfpack Women in Philanthropy’s Extended Leadership Committee. She previously chaired the Tennessee River Gorge Trust Board of Directors and now serves on Chattanooga’s green | spaces Board of Directors and on Pocosin Arts School of Fine Craft Board (based in Columbia, NC).

Brenda attended Vermont Law as an online student and was also able to attend in-person classes over three summers in South Royalton. She currently lives in Chattanooga, Tennessee, with her husband and artist Wade Brickhouse where they collect art and take care of various older and special needs dogs and cats. She enjoys hiking, gardening, and reading murder mysteries when not reading environmental literature.
