This educational webinarโhosted by VLGS’s Veterans Legal Assistance Projectโwill provide a practical introduction to key concepts in Vermont family law, focusing on custody and child support. Designed for non-lawyers, this session aims to demystify the legal process and clarify common terms, practices, and procedures. It will include an overview of how family law works in Vermont, including how courts handle divorce, separation, and disputes involving children.
You’ll also learn about the differences between physical responsibility and legal responsibility, as well as how property is divided and child support is calculated. This discussion will include information on required disclosures and how the court treats veterans benefits.
