Benjamin Varadi

Biography

Benjamin C. Varadi is an assistant professor of law at Vermont Law and Graduate School. His current research focuses on social equity regulation in the cannabis industry. Prior to joining VLGS, Ben was an attorney in private practice, primarily representing cannabis entrepreneurs as well as leaders in other emerging industries, regulated vices, and cultural outskirts. He was previously a partner at a New Orleans firm, a research fellow at the Tulane Center for Intellectual Property Law and Culture, managing attorney of the Common Ground Relief Legal Clinic, and a guest lecturer at the Loyola University New Orleans College of Law Technology and Legal Innovation Clinic.

Ben has taught continuing legal education and industry workshops on a wide variety of legal and technical topics, received the New Orleans City Business "Leadership in Law" Award, and was twice selected as a SuperLawyers "Rising Star." He is a member of the board of directors for Firefly Gathering, a permaculture and earth skills education resource.

He holds a JD, cum laude, from Tulane University Law School, and a BA in social technology from Burlington College.
