Joshua L Sturtevant is a nearly ten year veteran of the solar industry whose passion is the ongoing transition to a new energy economy driven by renewables. He has touched every part of the energy project lifecycle in both business and counsel roles from project development to asset sales and has worked on deals in the Americas, Europe and Africa.
Josh currently leads asset acquisitions for Nexamp, a Boston-based renewable energy company and subsidiary of Mitsubishi. Prior to Nexamp, he was an attorney (currently inactive) with Sullivan & Worcester in its Energy Finance Practice, which followed several years as inside counsel with Distributed Sun, a Washington, D.C.-based solar company. He was also part of the founding team of Renewable Energy Trust Capital and has spent time with ReVision Energy and Cleantech Law Partners.
He received his undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and his JD at The George Washington University Law School where he published work on utilizing alternative tax structures for solar development. He has volunteered as a mentor with the Cleantech Open program and has served as a consultant for the Solar In Your Community Challenge.
Josh enjoys spending spare time in the woods and on the waters of New England with his wife Jessica, his two young sons and his rescued hound-mutts, Boone and Crockett.
