Biography
Senator Kesha Ram Hinsdale is the first woman of color to serve in the State Senate. She has championed the environment in the Legislature for over a decade and built a coalition to pass Vermont's first Environmental Justice policy in 2022.
Kesha has served as Vice Chair of the House Natural Resources & Energy Committee, in addition to serving on the General, Housing & Military Affairs and Ways & Means Committees in the House. In the Senate, she serves on the Economic Development, Housing & General Affairs and Government Operations Committees. Kesha also received a 2022 Environmental Merit Award from the Environmental Protection Agency for her Environmental Justice work.
Kesha has a BS in Natural Resource Planning and a BA in Political Science from the University of Vermont. She received her Master of Public Administration from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. She lives with her husband and dog in Shelburne.
