Joe Halso is an attorney at the Sierra Club, where he focuses on transportation electrification. He works to electrify our nation’s vehicles while speeding the transition to a smarter, cleaner grid.
Mr. Halso leads Sierra Club’s work to define and expand the role for electric utilities with respect to electric vehicles, and has a particular expertise in the design of utility programs to deploy vehicle-charging infrastructure and the related legal and policy issues, including regulatory models for this new area of utility investment. He has addressed or litigated these issues in state utility commissions across the country. Mr. Halso also works to advance and protect clean transportation policies at the state and federal level.
Before law school, Mr. Halso worked for the Michigan DNR, where he performed fisheries research. He earned his BA degree from the University of Michigan and his JD degree from the University of Michigan Law School. He is based in Denver, CO.
