Biography

Andrea "Danny" Folds is legislative counsel for oceans law and policy on the lands, oceans, and wildlife team at Earthjustice.

Prior to joining Earthjustice, Danny served as a law clerk at the Centro de los Derechos del Migrante in Mexico City working to advance migrant workers' rights within the H-2 visa system. While a student at Vermont Law School, Danny worked with Milk with Dignity - the first worker-led social responsibility movement in the dairy industry - and worked with the Center for Agriculture and Food Systems to develop a handbook of rights under state and federal law for migrant farmworkers in Vermont.

Danny began her career in the context of faith-based social justice organizing while a student at Vanderbilt Divinity School in Nashville, Tennessee. By serving workers' rights organizations and congregations and volunteering with the Coalition of Immokalee Workers, Danny came to understand the many ways in which liberation theology and an inclusive and accessible democratic system are interdependent.

Outside of work, Danny volunteers with the Earth Law Center to advance rights of nature in Latin America, and with Creation Justice Ministries to promote faith-based conservation by developing content for religious audiences.
