Resilience and Sustainability

About this Course

There is a rapidly growing global movement to integrate "resilience" and/or "sustainability" into decision making at all levels in the public and private sectors. In this course, we will explore the law’s role in this movement, and how it can serve as a mechanism for positive change. We will see how far we can push the law to help promote a more resilient and sustainable future. We have three primary objectives (and six core competencies described below), 1) to understand the theory and concept of resilience and sustainability, including their applicability to many disciplines, 2) to learn a set of broadly applicable skills necessary to apply the theory of resilience and sustainability to real world legal situations, and 3) to hone your writing and presentation skills as future lawyers and advocates.
