Biography
Jameke Spencer, who goes by Meke, is a 3L from New York City. Meke graduated from Penn State University, University Park, with a bachelor’s degree in criminology and a minor in sociology. He grew up in the competitive dance world and trained under previous company members from Alvin Ailey and the Dance Theatre of Harlem. He also was a dance major at LaGuardia High School of Music and Art and Performing Arts.
Before coming to law school, Meke worked at the New York City Department of Education and the New York City Housing Authority and interned at the Bronx District Attorney’s Office in the Domestic Violence Bureau during his 1L summer. In addition to his interest in entertainment law, Meke has a background in public interest work and remains passionate about advocacy. He currently works as a substitute teacher at the South Royalton Elementary School and White River Valley High School. Meke also serves as the DEI Chair for the Student Bar Association.
Alongside his legal studies, he is a dancer and plans to practice entertainment law after graduation. Outside of his academic and professional dance commitments, he enjoys watching horror films and cooking.
