Commencement Week is one of the most memorable and festive parts of the academic year at Vermont Law and Graduate School (VLGS). Relive the highlights of this momentous occasion with the event recordings below.
Cultural Celebration
VLGS honors the graduating members of student affinity groups with a stole presentation ceremony acknowledging their unique contributions to our community. We were thrilled to welcome back Isaiah Gonzales JD’25, the first Latino to hold the position of Student Bar Association President at VLGS and now an assistant public defender in Albany County, New York, to deliver the keynote address.

Awards Ceremony
The annual Awards Ceremony is a chance to recognize members of the graduating class for their academic and community successes. VLGS faculty and staff presented the awards, making each individual recognition memorable.
Commencement Ceremony
VLGS celebrated its golden anniversary alongside the Class of 2026 with our 50th Commencement ceremony! Abigail Dillen, president of Earthjustice and Earthjustice Action, gave this year’s Commencement address and received an honorary degree. Jay Blumenkopf JD’76, a member of the charter class of 1976, and Professor David Firestone were also honored, representing the first chapter of our institution. Congratulations to all of our graduates–past and present!
