The Graduate Certificate in Animal Protection Policy offers early- and mid-career professionals, as well as JD students at VLGS and other law schools, core policy knowledge in animal protection and the opportunity to take two or more specialized elective courses.

Students can complete the Graduate Certificate online, on campus, or a hybrid of both. To obtain the certificate, a student must earn 9 credits, including the required course Animal Protection Policy. The remaining courses can be chosen from an approved list of electives. A student pursuing a Graduate Certificate in Animal Protection Policy may apply earned credits toward the Master of Climate and Environmental Policy (MCEP), Executive Master of Environmental Policy (EMEP), or Master of Public Policy (MPP) degrees with approval from each program’s director.
