Artist Statement:

I wanted to paint a piece that depicted the countless unarmed young black men who have been killed by police because of assumptions. These young men are 'scary', 'dangerous', and 'possible criminals' in the eyes of white policemen. So I created this piece to encapsulate and honor the innocent victims on the other side of the bullet.
