The Veterans Law Student Association (VLSA) at Vermont Law School invites community members to a Veterans Day ceremony, panel discussion with light refreshments, and surprise announcement beginning at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10, on the VLS campus.
The Veterans Day event will begin with a flag ceremony on the front lawn of Debevoise Hall and continue with a panel discussion in Yates Common Room in Debevoise Hall. Guest speakers include Laurie Izutsu, an attorney who works on behalf of Vermont military veterans at the South Royalton Legal Clinic; Michael Owens, justice outreach specialist at the White River Junction VA Medical Center; Professor Peter Teachout; and Chris Whidden JD’18, VLSA president. VLSA members will conclude the afternoon with a surprise announcement and ribbon-cutting ceremony in Anderson House on the VLS campus.
“The Veterans Law Student Association at Vermont Law School welcomes our Vermont friends and neighbors to campus for our Veterans Day ceremony and other activities,” said Whidden. “We especially look forward to announcing a new resource at VLS, one that reinforces our commitment to service and providing opportunities to veterans and their families.
