​On Saturday, September 12th VLS will host a Community Day from 9:30 am to 1:00 pm. The purpose of this event is to learn about the needs in the local community and participate in a service project that helps local residents in need. On Saturday, VLS alum Wynona Ward will speak about her local, non-profit organization, Have Justice Will Travel, which is dedicated to ending domestic violence. After listening to her speak, participants will assemble packages for Ms. Ward to give to her clients. The packages will include basic toiletries, as many of Ms. Ward's clients have left their situations without any personal items and are entirely starting over.

WHAT CAN YOU DO TO HELP?

Please come help us assemble packages on Saturday. We need as many hands on deck as we can get. It is also a chance to learn about a great organization. 1Ls are strongly encouraged to attend and use this opportunity to learn about the community you have recently joined.

BUT WHAT IF I CAN'T MAKE SATURDAY?

No worries, you can still help. There will be a table in Chase Breezeway where you can donate toiletries that we will use in our packages. We recommend donating shampoo, conditioner, toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, etc.
