​Bar Counsel and VBA President-elect, Michael Kennedy will discuss hot topics in legal ethics, including an attorney's duties with respect to technology & social media, as well as an attorney's duties when advising clients on issues related to marijuana. The former will focus on Rules 1.1 and 1.6 of the Vermont Rules of Professional conduct, while the latter will address the tension between federal and state law and the resulting dilemma lawyers face under Rule 1.2(d). Mr. Kennedy will reserve time to take questions on anything and everything the audience would like to discuss.

Also, Mr. Kennedy will conduct an informal pub-trivia style ethics quiz that focuses less on law and legal ethics than it down on law in pop culture.
