NAFTA and Sustainable Development: History, Experience and Prospects for Reform

Montreal, 13 October 2015—McGill University's Faculty of Law and the Vermont Law School (VLS) invite you to a reception for the publication of NAFTA and Sustainable Development: History, Experience and Prospects for Reform.

The book, which is published by Cambridge University Press, assesses the current state of environmental protection under the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) and its companion agreement, the North American Agreement on Environmental Cooperation (NAAEC). Its editors are Hoi Kong, Associate Professor and Associate Dean, Academic at McGill's Faculty of Law, and Kinvin Wroth, Professor of Law and Director of the Land Use Institute at VLS.

The collection of essays includes contributions by participants at the 2013 Joint Workshop on Sustainable Development, the Submissions Process and Cross-boundary Energy Issues hosted by McGill, VLS, the Commission for Environmental Cooperation (CEC) and the North American Consortium on Legal Education. Contributors include academics, current and former CEC staff, and law practitioners in the public, private and non-profit sectors.
