Mental Health Forum

8:45am

Chase Community Center

Chase Center

Millions of Americans are impacted by mental health issues.  The Vermont Law School community is not isolated from these issues.  With this in mind, we are hosting a forum to increase the understanding of the complexity of depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, and mental illness, and also to inform you of the many resources that are available.  Our hope is to de-stigmatize mental health needs and encourage the VLS community to seek help if needed.

The panel is scheduled for Tuesday, September 27th at 12:45 PM in the Chase Center.

Andrew Marchev, the SBA President will facilitate the discussion.

Professors Latham and Rumelt will speak to their experiences and challenges they faced while coping with their own personal health concerns.

Gretchen Curtis, a clinician from the Clara Martin Center, will speak about issues surrounding mental health and promote resources available through the Clara Martin Center.

Matt Pritchard, President of the Veteran’s Law Student Association, will speak on the special needs of Veterans and how combat related PTSD plays a role in their return to society.

Finally, Professor Joe Brennan will speak to the Character and Fitness sections of various State Bar applications as it relates to reporting substance and mental health treatment.

Please join us as we educate the community as well as show support for community members affected by mental health as they work to improve their lives.

Lunch will be served!
