On Friday, September 15, please join the Vermont Law Review for our symposium "Media Law and Journalism: Protecting Democracy’s Safeguards"

The event is free and open to the public, but you must register to join us for lunch. To register, follow the link to Eventbrite below: https://lawreviewsymposium2017-medialaw.eventbrite.com/.

The keynote speaker, Lynn Oberlander, is General Counsel for Gizmodo Media Group. Ms. Oberlander brings a rich experience in all aspects of media law, including newsgathering issues, IP rights, the critical importance of the First Amendment in protecting journalists and news organizations, and a lifelong commitment to the importance of accurate journalism in a democratic society.

Joined by experts in First Amendment law--as well as prominent local and national journalists--the three panels will focus on:

  1. FOIA litigation;
  2. whistleblowers, leakers and national security;
  3. and (3) fake news, propaganda and disinformation.

We are excited to delve into this important and timely topic, and very much look forward to seeing all of you there!
