Criminal Law Society Meeting

1:00pm

Oakes Hall - Room 110

Oakes 110

Vermont Law School's Criminal Law Society will be holding its first meeting of the school year on Thursday, September 10th at 5:00 pm in Oakes 110.

The main item on the agenda for the first meeting is to elect the following positions for the 2015-2016 year:

  • Chair or Co-Chairs
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • Program Coordinator

In addition to the election, the meeting is a chance to gauge interest in the Criminal Law Society and talk about what to do as a group going forward.

Last year, the Criminal Law Society teamed up with VLS's SPEAK organization to co-host a day-long conference on the issue of marijuana legalization in Vermont. The conference brought together entrepreneurs, small business owners, health care workers, law enforcement officials, policy advocates, and both the Majority and Minority Leaders of the Vermont Senate to share their thoughts, arguments, and perspectives on the many complex pros and cons of legalization. It was a fun and interesting day and the conference was a success.

For more information and a discussion about the Criminal Law Society and why you should join, please attend the meeting.  If you can't make it, email Brendan Scherer for updates.
