Jeffry White

Biography

Professor White directs the JD Externship Program and regularly teaches in all three of the Program’s course offerings: Semester in Practice, Judicial Externship, and Part-time JD Externship. He is a graduate of Sarah Lawrence College and a 1987 graduate of Vermont Law School, cum laude. While a student, he completed a full-time Judicial Externship in the chambers of the Honorable Franklin S. Billings Jr., United States District Court for the District of Vermont.

After law school, Professor White clerked for the Vermont Superior and District Courts in Windsor County. He then worked in private practice, focusing on insurance, medical negligence, and general personal injury litigation, with special emphasis on appellate practice. After leaving private practice in 2001, Professor White served as Special Assistant Attorney General, acting as a consultant to the Civil Division on complex litigation matters against the State of Vermont. He joined the Vermont Law School faculty in 2003.

Professor White is admitted to practice in Vermont and New Hampshire.
