Rachel Hanson '18

Born and raised in Michigan, Rachel came to VLS because of its environmental program and community mission. During her time at the ENRLC, Rachel has worked on a variety of cases—from Vermont pesticide use, peer reviewing a Ninth Circuit amicus curie brief, and traveling to the U.S. Virgin Islands to halt the use of air curtain incinerators. Presently at VLS, Rachel is also a managing editor for the Vermont Law Review, Secretary of the Animal Law Society and Moot Court Advisory Board, Vice President of the Barrister’s Board of Directors, a Student Ambassador, and a Teaching Assistant in the legal writing program.
