Later on, she was invited to become part of the legal team of Union Electrica (UNE), the Cuban Public Utility, where she was involved in handling part of its import operations as a team member. Inside UNE, Marnie became one of the legal members of the International Business Negotiation Team, until eventually she joined the International Business Office full time. During her time at the International Business Office, Marnie became an adjoint teacher at her alma mater, teaching commercial law.
