Billie Munro Audia
Billie Audia is a technology lawyer with more than 20 years of experience advising Fortune 500 companies on global transactions, IP strategy and corporate matters. As the associate general counsel (Europe) for 3Com Corp. and Openwave Systems, she was based for seven years in London where she was responsible for all legal matters across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. As a corporate lawyer for Gap, Inc., her international responsibilities included the Asia Pacific region and she negotiated dozens of multi-million dollar global transactions for the $17 billion retailer. In 2007, she founded the Zermatt Legal Group, which advises technology companies and entertainers on commercial transactions, IP issues and international matters. She also teaches International Intellectual Property law at Vermont Law School. She earned her JD degree from the Strom College of Law at the University of Denver and early on was an associate with Covington & Burling and a lawyer for the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C. She is a frequent lecturer at Suffolk Law School, Dartmouth's Tuck Business School, Boston University and various international legal conferences. She also serves as a pro bono lawyer for artists and musicians.
