Esther Akwii, LLM'20


Esther Akwii was an LLM Fellow with the Center for Agriculture and Food Systems (CAFS). She is VLS LLM, Food and Agriculture Law 20’ candidate, holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice, and a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) degree from Makerere University (Uganda). She has previously worked with smallholder farmers on land tenure, right to food, climate change, and natural resource governance. Before joining the CAFS team, she worked at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations’ Agriculture and Consumer Protection Department in Rome, Italy. At CAFS, Esther was involved on several projects, conducting research and writing on agriculture-related topics such as farm to school legislation, farm bill, rural food access, food safety, land matters, agritourism, labor, and business structures.
