Intl Business Transactions

About this Course

his course provides a practice-based introduction to private cross-border transactions. Using a problem-solving method, it will proceed step-by-step through three main types of international business transactions: purchase/sale of goods; licensing of intellectual properties; and investment of capital in foreign countries in a service business.  We will use treaties as well as law from different countries to solve problems arising in each transaction.  Students will develop an appreciation of the importance of culture in molding law, and the significance of culture in interviewing and negotiation. Skills in international law research and analysis will be developed through several written problem assignments.
