Artist Marcia Bushnell will host a painting exhibit titled "Against Forgetting the Human Condition" from March 23 to April 27. Bushnell's paintings focus on the consequences of war for the soldier, the refugee and the environment. Included are the voices of poets from around the world, whose experiences with war and dislocation add voice to the failure of efforts to establish peace and justice. Using resolute, sympathetic line and simplicity of figuration, Bushnell bears witness to the injustices of recent genocidal wars and climate-caused dislocations, for which the private response must not be a self-numbing denial but remorse for the human condition and a renewed search for equity.
The exhibit is open from 8 a.m to 5 p.m. daily. It is free and open to the public. Parking -- first right after bridge in the Oakes Hall parking lot.
