Earth Week: Earth Day 41st Anniversary Speaker, David MearsThe Environmental Law Society (ELS) is pleased to welcome David Mears '91, Commissioner of the Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC), as the 2011 Earth Day special guest speaker. Mears returned early this year from his Fulbright Scholarship at Sun Yat-Sen University in China, where he was developing environmental clinical programs to strengthen enforcement of China's anti-pollution laws. Prior to leaving for China, Mears was the director of Vermont Law School's Environmental and Natural Resources Law Clinic (ENRLC).
On Earth Day, April 22, Commissioner Mears will share with VLS his perspective on the roles VLS students can play in creating a cleaner world for ourselves and future generations.
