1L Public Citizenship and the Law: Frederick S. LaneFrederick Lane is a writer, attorney, expert witness, and professional speaker on the legal and cultural implications of emerging technology. He is an expert on the impact of emerging technologies on society, with a particular emphasis on personal workplace privacy, student use and misuse of technology, and culture wars. Mr. Lane provides expert witness services in the field of computer forensics and has written five books, most recently American Privacy: The Four-Hundred-Year History of Our Most Contested Right (Beacon Press 2010). Mr. Lane's presentation is part of the 2010-2011 seminar series designed exclusively for 1L students, Public Citizenship and the Law.
