Vermont Law School is committed to preparing the complete lawyer. Whether our graduates work in a solo practice, large firm, non-profit, government agency or as in-house counsel at a corporation, they consistently report that their VLS education effectively prepared them for highly successful practice.
Our small class size is one of the hallmarks of our intimate legal education, along with a strong history of hands-on clinical experience, an eclectic and talented faculty, and our beautiful rural setting.
Soon after its founding, VLS established itself as a law school with a tradition of public service. Vermont Law School attracts students who are optimistic and committed to making a difference in our world. At VLS our motto, Law for the Community and the World, is alive in our students, faculty and alumni who do groundbreaking work in energy law, global climate change law, international human rights and other significant areas of the law.
As a relatively young independent law school, Vermont Law School is continuing to build the essential endowment and annual resources needed to make sure that the school retains its academic intimacy and hands-on legal training. Additionally the law school is committed to becoming competitive by offering scholarships to the many top students who list VLS as their first choice, yet must go elsewhere because we cannot compete with scholarship awards.
Thanks to our generous community of supporters—we have made great strides, raising over a million dollars in scholarship funds during our last campaign—yet we still have far to go! Make a gift to Vermont Law School today in support of high-quality humane legal training.
