Gear Shed Instructions

The following procedure was developed in order to provide the entire VLS community with access to outdoor equipment. Failure to follow the procedure will result in accountability and quality breakdowns, ultimately compromising everyone’s ability to enjoy the Gear Shed. Please do your part to ensure that the Gear Shed runs smoothly for everyone.

Requirements

♦ Anyone checking-out equipment must print and fill out both the Assumption of Liability and the Rental Agreement before each instance that he/she wishes to check-out equipment. Both forms are available on the TWEN website and on the public VLS Gear Shed website.
♦ The equipment inventory is available online through the Julien VLS Library Catalog in the Outdoors Club course reserve.
♦ The Gear Shed Key is available at the Library Circulation Desk and must be checked out while gear is being pulled from the shed and must be returned to the Library Circulation Desk immediately.
♦ Barcode tags on each piece of equipment must be brought to the Circulation Desk in order to check-out the equipment. Barcode tags must be replaced on the equipment once the item is returned.
