Mountainfilm on Tour Comes to Vermont Law School

Monday, October 31, 2016

SOUTH ROYALTON, Vt.

The Environmental Law Society at Vermont Law School will host Mountainfilm on Tour, a movie night designed to educate and motivate audiences about global issues, from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, in Chase Community Center on the VLS campus. The event, open to the public, will feature documentaries that reflect the theme "The Place" with an emphasis on outdoor recreation, the changing environment, sustainable farming, and wildlife.

Mountainfilm on Tour is an extension of the Mountainfilm Festival, a four-day event held each Memorial Day weekend in Telluride, Colo. It is part film festival, part ideas summit, and part jamboree. Mountainfilm attracts leading independent documentary filmmakers, artists, photographers, conservationists, mountaineers, scientists, journalists, and explorers from around the world. Each year, Mountainfilm on Tour takes a selection of outstanding films from the Telluride festival on the road to engage audiences who otherwise would not have an opportunity to experience them.

Doors for the VLS event will open at 5:30 p.m. Tickets, free for students and $7 for general admittance, can be purchased at the door. For more information about Mountainfilm on Tour at VLS, email Corey Lim JD'18 at CoreyLim@vermontlaw.edu.

The Environmental Law Society at Vermont Law School is a student organization whose purpose is to promote environmental awareness and provide a forum for student participation in projects and action concerning global environmental issues.
