Computers at VLS

The VLS Laptop Purchase Program is available to incoming VLS students. We will purchase the laptop described below on your behalf, configure it with the software you will need during law school, and provide three years of hardware support (through Lenovo and/or VLS) and one year of software support free.

Why Buy This Laptop?

Worry-free ownership of a business class laptop.

Great Gift! If a family member or close friend is looking for the perfect gift for the soon-to-be law student, we can help with the process and assure you a new laptop upon arrival at Law School

Start with a New Laptop: We order the systems as close to the start of the term as possible to insure the optimal useful life of the laptop (certainly through three years of law school!)

Free Software Support: As stated above, you get free software support for the first year. Avoid $60/hr software service fees!

Free Hardware Support: You get three years of hardware support from VLS and/or Dell. Avoid $60/hr hardware service fees!

Loaner Program: While your laptop is being repaired, you will have the use of a loaner laptop, so you're never without a computer.

Order Dates

Orders in 2011 will be placed in June, July, and August. Please Note: You must order by July 15th for your laptop to be ready for pickup at VLS Orientation on August 22nd. Orders may be placed after this date, but we cannot guarantee delivery for the first day of Orientation.

Ordering Information

You will have a chance to review and finalize your order before submitting it. Once submitted, you will be able to print a copy of your information. You can choose to pay for the laptop using your financial aid, or send a check to the Financial Aid office.

Alternatively, you may print the PDF version of the order form, Option 1; Option 2 and mail it with your check to the Information Technology office.

If you would like to pay for your laptop with student loan funds, the purchase price of the laptop can be included in your Financial Aid budget, pending credit approval. Please contact dbecker@vermontlaw.edu if you have questions on using financial aid to buy your laptop.

If you have questions about the laptops themselves, or the laptop purchase program, please email newstudenthelpdesk@vermontlaw.edu.
